Fall Run Spring Fling

Celebrate Shaler Township’s Fall Run Park on June 1, 2019.

Walk to the falls on the trail and bridges that were reconstructed last year and try out an obstacle course at the soccer field.

Food and other features to be announced.

NAEC will be among the groups with information booths at the event.

North Park Spring Stewardship Day

Friends of North Park in partnership with NAEC will host their Spring Stewardship Day at the Ambridge Shelter. Volunteers will clean up trash, maintain trails, and remove invasive plant species. Lunch will be served afterwards! The Friends of North Park group is always looking for crew leaders for this event. To volunteer, or for more information, contact Gary Rigdon at 724-544-7284

Streambank Planting

Streambank planting along a 1-mile stretch of the North Fork of Pine Creek in North Park behind the Pearce Mill Rd. Administration Building. 303 Pearce Mill Rd, 15101.

Funded by National Fish And Wildlife Foundation and presented by the Allegheny Watershed Alliance and the Allegheny County Conservation District with support frm NAEC, Richland Township, Allegheny County Parks, Ohio Township, Etna Borough, Federal Express, Allegheny County Parks Foundation, and Friends of North Park.

Snacks provided. Bring your own water bottle,. Extra shovels and gloves are welcome.

Wear the right gear! (closed toe shoes)

Annual Seedling Sale Pick-Up

Trees, shrubs and wildflowers, are available through NAEC each spring, most are native to Pennsylvania or non-invasive. Our bulk ordering allows us to offer them at lower prices to you. All plants are nursery grown in PA., are either bare root or potted as noted, and are specially selected to create and improve wildlife habitat, as well as for their beauty and their ability to suit a variety of landscape sites and conditions.

Orders must be received by April 5th, 2019.  Pick-Up is on Saturday, 27th from 9am to 12pm at the Latodami Nature Center Barn

Penn State Master Gardeners of Allegheny county invite all county residents to this annual open house at the demonstration gardens at North Park.  NAEC will be a table stationed at the event.  Activities at this free annual "family friendly" event will include tours of the gardens, demonstrations, tastings, and kid friendly activities.
